SPRING SHOW - SATURDAY 2ND APRIL 2022 - WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY

As Saturday the 2nd of April dawned, there was a frost and clear blue skies. The people of Sarratt collected the flowers and vegetables from the garden and brought them to the Village Hall along with cakes, crafts and floral arrangements. The Spring Show was back after an absence of three years!

The flowers had been battered by frost, wind and snow in the preceding days. But, miraculously there were still a few good ones left. The Daffodil Trophy was awarded to Steven Booth and the trophy for the Other Flowers was won by Natalie Morris. The Vegetables Prize was awarded to Gail Compton.

The Arts and Crafts section produced some wonderful exhibits from the creative people of Sarratt. It’s truly amazing what was put on display. The winners of this were Kate Soothill and Ted North. Equally appealing were the Cookery entries where the lucky judge got to taste each one! Sandra Turner and Sarah Altman came out on top when the points were awarded. There were many Floral Art entries and the winners were Marilyn Butler, Sarah Altman and Natalie Morris.

The Children’s section was won by Archie Boda who produced a lovely “pizza face” and took away a large trophy and a gift voucher

When all the points were added up, the overall show winner was Steven Booth. But the real winner was Sarratt. We were grateful to be back to business as usual and gathering as a village to enjoy a village tradition.

Thank you to Richard Roberts for presenting the prizes.
